Execution of Abbas Hosseini postponed
During such a dark time in our world from governments committing crimes on their own people to the tragic natural disasters, it's always so unimaginably wonderful to receive good news. Twenty four hours ago, when I read this news that this young man had only hours left to live, I felt deeply saddened. This morning when I read the news of the last-minute postponement, I was overjoyed. Granted, his execution sentence hasn't been removed, but he's been bought a little extra time for lawyers and human rights groups to work on making sure that he isn't executed and that he receives a fair and just sentence; even though the man was killed in self-defense. I hope that these kinds of executions will be abolished entirely someday.

- Mahmoud AhmadiNejad said on Saturday (Mehr 11, Oct. 3) in his speech at the "International Meeting of the Islamic Media" in Tehran that "media is the most important weapon of the Imperialism in advancing its goals and plans" he added "the most efficient weapon of the enemies of humans against our nation is the media. The media are the tools to overthrow independent regimes in the world".
- The Green Path Movement: In a recent interview with 'Tehran-e-Emrouz' newspaper, Ali Motahhari, the conservative member of the Iranian Parliament, emphasized some important points about the Ahmadinejad Administration and his personal traits. "I just want to say that [during the recent presidential election] there was a widening gap between the pro-Ahmadinejad and anti-Ahmadinejad conservatives" claimed Motahhari in this interview "although most conservatives finally ended up voting for Ahmadinejad, but this was more like an emergency vote; most conservatives voted for Ahmadinejad with a weeping eye and were not consent with their vote. Indeed Ahmadinejad's specific personality, which was manifested more vividly during the presidential debates, did not help but to intensify these differences."
