- Yashar Ghajar has been sentenced to 2 years in prison suspended for 5 years, 148 lashings & fines.

- Alireza Beheshti has told his family he's in solitary & that they shouldn't wait for him yet.

- Today the arrested mothers were taken to the revolutionary court at around 4pm & after 1 hour back to the police.

- Two of these mothers who were in their 70s & in bad physical condition were released by the order of their doctor.

- At around 9-10 pm a few of these mothers were released after giving away their ID cards.

- Four of the arrested mothers were transfered to Evin.

- Following the shootings at the car carrying Mehdi Karoubi in Qazvin on Friday (Jan 8, 2010) which ended as failed assassination attack, Hossein Karoubi, Mehdi Karoubi’s son, in an interview with SahamNews (official website of Etemad Melli party) reinstated some points about this attack and the remarks of the police co...mmanders. Hossein Karoubi regarding the denial of Qazvin chief of police about this attack said: “First of all, military experts after visiting the car carrying Mehdi Karoubi have confirmed that two gun shots were fired at the front and back windows of the car. Second, the photos of this attack have been published on the web. It seems like the professional way to handle this situation was for the chief of police to check the car or even see the photos on the web so that he could have made more accurate comments in this regards.” While Mehdi Karoubi for the sake of preventing the situation from becoming more intense and saving integrity of the system has decided to stay silent regarding this attack, his son, Hossein Karoubi, in response to the remarks made by Qazvin chief of police said: “These kinds of reactions from police that are made in such a hurry is not surprising at all as they had happened in the past too.” He added: “When the horrible crimes of Kahrizak (the prison where arrested protesters were tortured, raped and even killed in), running over mourning people by police car on Bloody Ashura and tens of other horrible events that happened in front of people’s eye recently after the election, all have been easily denied [by the authorities], we don’t expect the police to show a better reaction to such a provocative and suspicious attempt.”
